It all started with a dream… A place to slow down. To gather. To breathe a little deeper and stay a little longer.

Riverbend Lodge began as a simple idea: a space designed for connection, adventure, and rest, all tucked along the winding banks of the Betsie River.

A few years ago, our family stumbled across this stretch of land and immediately felt it… this was something special. Before there was a house, there were tents. We camped here with our three daughters, falling asleep to the sound of the river and waking up to mist rising through the trees. It didn’t take long for the dream to grow into something more.

We built Riverbend Lodge as a place we would want to return to again and again—a place where mornings begin with coffee in hand on the deck, afternoons are spent floating the river or exploring nearby trails, and evenings wind down around a fire under a sky full of stars.

As a family, we’re always on the move — sports schedules, work, and the everyday rhythm of life keep us busy. Riverbend is where we come to reset. It’s where we unplug, reconnect, and make space for the moments that matter most. It’s also why we love sharing it with others.

Whether you’re here for a long-awaited family gathering, a weekend with friends, or simply a quiet escape, our hope is that Riverbend becomes a place you return to, just like it is for us.
